Sweeties Progress-April and May

Everyone at Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital is very pleased with how well Sweetie has done since we decreased her prednisolone dose. There has been no evidence of any relapse of her leukemia, and all of her liver enzymes have returned to normal values. In fact, it seems her biggest problem is one common to many of our older pets – arthritis and lower back pain which is limiting her enjoyment of spring and her hikes at Vanderbilt Mansion. As reported in March, we are using acupuncture and Adequan, but, if her blood values stay in the normal range, we may add other pain medications to see if they help her more than the Adequan and acupuncture have to date. Nevertheless, we have been very happy with her response to treatment so far, and are eagerly anticipating her exam and blood test results at the end of June, since that will be her six month milestone.

Sweetie is so happy to be alive and with her family. Everyday with her is a blessing and she loves every moment of riding in the car and going to the park. To this day she still will kiss everyone she meets or any other pet. We thank God and all the people who have helped keep her little spirit alive and well with this Vetinary care which has added so much to her precious life.

She passes on the love to all she meets and always is a good patient at the Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital where she has grown to love all the staff and greets them with kisses and an excited tail wagging when she sees them all. She is a great patient and lets the Doctor draw her blood without a whimper or complaint. She trusts the Doctor and knows she is trying to help her. As soon as she comes into the office, she goes over to the front desk, stands on her hind legs and tries to kiss
Barbara or whoever is at the front desk. It is something to see.

Thanks from all of us who lover her like part of our own heart,

    Ron Lipton
